Child struggles with poor eyesight because of mobile phone over-usage

We all know that the overexposure to mobile, television, and computer screens are not a good thing even for the adults. But just imagine what effect it has on children.

It seems like it has been a normal thing to give our phones to kids when we want them to be distracted. They’re having a tantrum? Give them the phone. You have something to do?

Make them watch a video on YouTube so that you can some peace of mind.

However, a four-year-old girl from Thailand almost went blind because of these mobile phones. It is said that because of her parents’ busy careers, she got exposed to cellphones since the young age of two.

They were immediately advised to get her eyeglasses, but when they did, the father noticed his daughter’s changing health. Then suddenly, his daughter found it hard to see which lead them to rush her to the hospital.

According to research from Common Sense Media, a child’s eyes aren’t the only ones that get negatively affected by gadget addiction. It also affects the brain development of children resulting in attention deficit, cognitive delays, impaired hearing, increased impulsivity, and decreased self-regulation.

Other effects can be obesity, violence, reduced interaction, and addiction.
