Agot Isidro calls out Pia Cayetano over Senate incident

However, the clip shared by Agot did not include the events that occurred before they reached the plenary hall.

Actress Agot Isidro took a swipe at Senator Pia Cayetano following the tense incident that unfolded inside the Senate on June 4.

In a post on X, Agot questioned what she described as the senator’s apparent exhaustion after escorting invited witnesses into the Senate session hall.

“She was a freaking triathlete. Anong drama ito, Pia? Sablay ka na naman!” Agot wrote.

The actress attached a news clip showing Cayetano accompanying former Marines invited by her committee to testify regarding alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

In the video, Cayetano could be seen linking arms with two of the former Marines as they made their way into the Senate plenary area. Upon arriving, the senator appeared visibly tired and out of breath.

However, the clip shared by Agot did not include the events that occurred before they reached the plenary hall.

Earlier reports indicated that a commotion broke out in the Senate corridors as the invited witnesses attempted to enter the building. The situation reportedly became chaotic, with people allegedly trying to block the witnesses from gaining access.

The incident also drew attention after an alleged confrontation involving Senator Robin Padilla and Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla was reported. Both sides later denied claims of any serious altercation and maintained that there was no conflict between them.

According to accounts of those present, the invited witnesses and their escorts were also forced to move quickly through alternative routes, including stairways and emergency exits, in order to reach the hearing venue.

Agot’s post quickly generated reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the senator’s actions during the incident.

The actress’ remarks come just weeks after Cayetano became the subject of public discussion when she turned emotional during a Senate speech, saying that no one had checked on them during the exchange of gunfire that followed the May 13 elections.

As of writing, Cayetano has not publicly responded to Agot’s comments.
