Kapamilya actress and former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemate Vivoree Esclito did not hold back in expressing her disappointment over the recent leadership change in the Senate.

The actress took to Instagram Stories to criticize four women senators following the May 11 leadership shift that saw Alan Peter Cayetano replace Tito Sotto as Senate President.
Vivoree specifically called out Senators Loren Legarda, Camille Villar, Pia Cayetano, and Imee Marcos.
In her now-circulating Instagram Story, Vivoree shared a photo of the four senators during the oath-taking of Legarda as the new Senate President Pro Tempore.
“I am all for empowering women, but not when these are the women in power. Nakakahiya kayo,” the actress wrote.
The political shakeup in the Senate has continued to spark strong reactions online, particularly after Legarda — previously part of the majority bloc under Sotto’s leadership — crossed over to support Cayetano’s election as Senate President.
Senator Ping Lacson later admitted in interviews that he sensed disappointment from Sotto regarding Legarda’s move.
“Posibleng hindi lang ma-express ni Sen. Sotto ‘yong ini-express ko ngayon, pero I can feel him na gano’n ang kaniyang sentimyento kasi mas close sila ni Sen. Loren kaysa sa amin. Talagang very close,” Lacson said.
He added that while he respected Legarda’s decision to vote for the opposing bloc, he felt they should have at least been informed beforehand.
“Hindi ko inaalis na bumoto siya sa kabila. Ang sa akin lang, ang sentimyento lang, sana nakapagpasabi muna bago siya bumoto. Hindi ‘yung nabulaga kami na nawala siya sa amin,” he added.
Meanwhile, Legarda has since released a statement pledging support for the new Senate leadership and calling for unity among both the majority and minority blocs.
“Let us communicate openly, combine our collective wisdom, and protect the integrity of this institution,” the senator said.
Lacson also clarified that he had no issue with Legarda taking over the Senate President Pro Tempore position, emphasizing that his sentiments were more about the manner in which the political shift unfolded.
