Carla Abellana calls for answers regarding alleged poisoning of stray animals at Manila Memorial Park

As of the time of reporting, MMP has not issued any official response to Carla’s inquiries.

Kapuso actress Carla Abellana has raised concerns about the welfare of stray animals at Manila Memorial Park (MMP) after learning about a post from Humans for Animals PH.

The post alleges that stray dogs and cats within the cemetery were poisoned, prompting Carla to demand answers and justice.

In an Instagram post, Carla expressed her displeasure, stating, “I’m not saying you’re guilty. But the illegal killing through poisoning of the spayed and neutered cared-for strays in your park deserve answers and more importantly, justice. Most especially because your park was still closed to the public when the poisoning took place. We as animal welfare advocates deserve answers too.”

Carla also shared a post from Humans For Animals PH and Ms. Ka Alba, which provided a detailed account of the alleged poisoning of the dogs and cats residing within MMP. The post described how the animals joyfully consumed their food, only to tragically succumb to their fate.

Reports indicate that only one cat survived the incident and was taken to a veterinary clinic. However, it was found to be in a distressing condition, with stiffened fur and irritated eyes. The diagnosis pointed to Toxicosis, an illness caused by poisoning.

As of the time of reporting, MMP has not issued any official response to Carla’s inquiries. Nevertheless, Kaya Alba shared an update, revealing that a meeting was scheduled to address the issue, particularly concerning the presence of stray dogs and cats within MMP.

Meanwhile, Carla Abellana is actively engaged in promoting her upcoming project, ‘Stolen Life,’ alongside fellow actors Beauty Gonzalez and Gabby Concepcion. The series, which delves into the concept of astral projection, is set to have its world premiere on November 13 at 3:20 p.m. The show is directed by Jerry Sineneng Lopez.
