Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Condemns Pura Luka Vega’s Actions, Suggests Drastic Measures

Quiboloy’s strong comments come in response to the controversial drag performance that imitated Jesus Christ and incorporated a remix of the Lord’s Prayer.

A video clip of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s recent remarks regarding drag artist Pura Luka Vega has ignited a wave of discussions on social media platforms.

Quiboloy’s strong comments come in response to the controversial drag performance that imitated Jesus Christ and incorporated a remix of the Lord’s Prayer.

On August 10, 2023, a video surfaced on SMNI News’ X account in which Quiboloy addressed the issue. He voiced his opinion on Vega’s actions, suggesting that there should be significant consequences for such acts that many find offensive and blasphemous.

Quiboloy strongly expressed, “Ginaya niya si Jesus Christ. Matapos, binago niya ang Lord’s Prayer?” He went on to propose drastic measures, stating, “Dapat ipako natin siya. Pangalawa, kamukha siya ni Judas kaya kailangan magbigti na rin siya. Iyan lang ang dalawang kalalagyan niya.”

The pastor further stated, “In either way, he is a blasphemous individual and sana magkaroon pa ng kaliwanagan ang puso at kaluluwa niya, para magbagong-buhay siya at saka magsisi ng kaniyang mga kasalanan.”

Vega’s controversial performance drew widespread criticism, and this has led to declarations of persona non grata in several areas in the Philippines due to the perceived offense against religious sentiments.

While Quiboloy’s remarks have sparked intense discussions on freedom of expression, art, and religious sensitivities, it remains to be seen how this incident will shape ongoing conversations surrounding these themes.
