Sen. Imee Marcos smiles when asked about family’s P200 billion real estate tax case

Despite giving minimal answers, Marcos’ body language was screaming guilty.

Sen. Imee Marcos refused to answer when asked about her family’s obligation to pay over P200 billion in real estate taxes.

In an interview on Thursday, a reporter asked her to comment on the issue, but she had none of it.

“I think we are talking about elections,” a smiling Marcos said.

She only had a few words when the reporter asked if she could expound on her advice to her brother presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. about the importance of attending debates.

“I’ve said what I said. Thank you,” that’s all and left.

She also refused to say anything about the alleged vote-buying by the UniTeam during its trip to Nueva Ecija.

Despite giving minimal answers, Marcos’ body language was screaming guilty.

Viewers caught on to this and emphasized why Marcos Jr. doesn’t deserve to be president.

Mo Twister was just appalled with the video.

The work done on her face was equally horrifying.

The reporter could’ve done more by pressing Marcos.

Aksyon Demokratiko was aching to find out more about the Marcos family’s outstanding debt to the government.

Luckily, two agencies confirmed the issue in a letter.

BIR Commissioner Ceasar Dulay said that his office “did send a written demand to the Marcos heirs on December 2, 2021, regarding their tax liabilities.”

In a letter dated March 11, the PCGG stressed that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) “already executed its final assessment” on the properties involved in 1993 and that “as early as 1997, the judgment on the tax case had become final and executory.”

“Because as early as 1993, BIR already executed its final assessment when it levied and sold 11 real properties in Tacloban City, and as early as 1997, the judgment on the tax case had become final and executory,” the commission explained in the letter signed by PCGG Chairman John Agbayani, Commissioners Raymond Anthony Dilag and retired Maj. Gen. Rhoderick Parayno.
