No delicadeza? Toni Gonzaga steps down as main host ‘PBB’ after introducing Rep. Rodante Marcoleta

People saw how she flipped on the network so quickly and hoped that she’d face repercussions

Toni Gonzaga will no longer be hosting ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) after 16 years.

The news came a day after Gonzaga warmly introduced Rep. Rodante Marcoleta at the commencement of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio’s campaign for the presidency and vice-presidency in Bulacan.

The Philippine Arena was expected to have around 25,000 attendees and it sure looked like it based on photos shared on social media.

Supporters of the movement danced to Bagong Lipunan, the song used by former president Ferdinand Marcos to promote Martial Law.

“Tapos na. May nanalo na. Tapos na ang laban!” Gonzaga said with all energy.

She also welcomed Marcoleta, one of the representatives who helped shut ABS-CBN down last year.

Following the unfortunate shutdown in 2020, Gonzaga was quoted as saying: “Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa n’yo sa mga trabahador ng ABS-CBN,”

People saw how she flipped on the network so quickly and hoped that she’d face repercussions, and so she did. Reports circulating online suggest that she may never get the chance to host PBB again. ABS-CBN’s Facebook page said in a deleted post that Gonzaga endorsed Bianca Gonzales to replace her on the program.

Gonzaga has been the main host of PBB since 2005. People said that ABS-CBN gave her the chance to save face following her questionable decisions lately.

Gonzaga sold out, netizens said.

Gonzaga is a big name and some Kapamilya admit that PBB will never be the same without her but the betrayal she displayed was more than enough to have walked out the door.

Before her exit from PBB, she left a bad taste in people’s mouths.
