Harry Roque misconstrues ‘vital signs’ to ‘vital statistics’

People aren’t interested in knowing Roque’s vital statistics.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque was made fun of on social media after he mistook vital signs for “vital statistics.”

Following his testing positive of COVID-19, Roque explained to the press how the Pasay City hotel he is isolated at is treating him.

He said doctors and nurses conduct interventions twice a day to determine his “vital statistics.”

Hindi po ibig sabihin na palibhasa isolation facility kayo pupunta, wala pong doktor. Mayroon pong mga doktor, may mga nurses po dito sa hotel where I’m staying right now. Dalawang beses po ang rounds nila at dalawang beses kayong kinukuhanan din ng vital statistics kasama na po iyong oximeter to measure your oxygen level,” he said.

Roque, an attorney and not a health expert, had Netizens laughing at him.

Vital statistics usually refer to quantitative data concerning the population (like the number of births, marriages, and deaths) or the measurements of a woman’s bust, waist, and hips. Vital signs are for medical professionals to gauge how well a person’s body is functioning.

The four main vital signs are body temperature, pulse rate, breathing, and blood pressure.

Many find it hard to believe that Roque is infected with SARS-CoV-2 since he won’t release his SARS-CoV-2. He has been on record lying about a lot of things as well.

He lied about the matrix release of the alleged transaction between ABS-CBN and Lehmann Brothers- an issue the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has already refuted.

Roque also lied about President Rodrigo Duterte being neutral in ABS-CBN’s bid for franchise renewal.
