Infuriated Netizens Lash Out on Uber Driver who made a Terrible Joke about Taking Advantage of his Passenger

Nowadays, passengers are starting to get more and more anxious to commute whenever they need to get somewhere because of the drivers on the road. Some of them drive too fast as if they were the lead stars of Fast & Furious, and there are also some who tries to take advantage of their passengers whenever they see an opportunity.

A post from a Facebook user named Mich Lat Gatan went viral last April 7th, when she posted about an Uber driver who boasts about his wrongdoing on his own private account.

In the picture, the driver who was identified as Jay Ram had his hand inside the shirt of a female passenger who was allegedly asleep and drunk.

Along with the actual picture, she also included a screenshot of the comments written by Jay Ram’s Facebook friends – which had angered the netizens even more. His friends’ comments seemed like they were even commending and praising him for doing such a thing.

Jay Ram posted a status on his Facebook account apologizing for his terrible joke, saying that he had learned a lesson from the occurrence.

He also clarified that the female passenger in the picture was not a rider, but rather his female friend — which didn’t made the situation any better as it implies that it is alright to do such thing to a female friend.

However, another Facebook user claimed that the same driver also took advantage of her when she was his rider back then.

The netizens who had seen the posted were furious upon reading what the man and his friends said jokingly and reminded their friends and relatives to be more cautious when riding alone.

Even if the man had already said it was just a joke — it was an inappropriate and horrible one.

Everyone, regardless of gender, shouldn’t be taken advantage of in any way. Everyone has their rights that should be respected at all times.

Moreover, jokes are acceptable as long as it is not degrading and offensive to anyone. Just like what the netizens are constantly reminded of: Think before you click.
