Actress Yasmien Kurdi believes that parents play a crucial role in preventing bullying and shaping children’s behavior.

After watching the Netflix Korean drama Teach You A Lesson, Yasmien took to social media to discuss one of the show’s themes that resonated deeply with her: toxic parenting.
“May episode din showing how toxic parenting becomes when adults refuse to discipline children at eto, may personal experience kami sa ganitong scenario,” she shared.
The actress said the series raises important questions not only about bullying but also about accountability among parents, schools, and communities.
“Though fictional, the series raises real questions: Sino ang nagpo-protect sa victims? What responsibility do schools have when problems escalate? How do we protect teachers while still guiding students properly?”
Drawing from her own experiences as a mother, Yasmien urged parents to guide and discipline their children early.
“Sa mga kapwa kong magulang: kapag may ‘sungay,’ disiplinahin habang bata pa.”
She stressed that schools should never become environments where abuse and intimidation are tolerated.
“Schools should be safe places for learning, not environments where abuse is tolerated.”

For Yasmien, preventing bullying begins at home and requires cooperation from families, educators, and society as a whole.
