Veteran journalist and columnist Mon Tulfo made explosive claims regarding the controversial tension and reported gunfire inside the Senate involving Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa amid the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest controversy.

In a Facebook post, Tulfo shared details allegedly coming from a source he referred to as “tweety bird,” claiming that the reported gunshots inside the Senate did not come from National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents.
According to him, the shots allegedly came from members of the Senate sergeant-at-arms unit under Senate security chief Mao Aplasca.
“The 37 shots fired came from personnel of the Senate sergeant-at-arms under Mao Aplasca,” Tulfo claimed.
“No shots were fired by NBI agents,” he added.
Tulfo further alleged that Aplasca and Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa were classmates at the Philippine Military Academy.
The columnist also made controversial allegations involving Alan Peter Cayetano, claiming the commotion inside the Senate was supposedly orchestrated.
“Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano and, of course, fugitive of justice Sen. Bato staged the commotion,” Tulfo stated.
He further alleged that the incident was supposedly intended to gain public sympathy and rally supporters outside the Senate compound.
“They wanted to gain public sympathy and call on the stupid DDS to gather outside the Senate,” he wrote.
Tulfo also linked the alleged incident to the impeachment issue involving Sara Duterte.
“Ayaw rin ni Cayetano na matuloy ang impeachment ni VP Sara kaya gumawa siya ng scenario,” he claimed, citing information from his source.
The journalist’s final remark also drew criticism online after he ended his post with a controversial statement targeting LGBTQ+ individuals.
As of writing, neither Alan Peter Cayetano nor Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa has issued an official response regarding Tulfo’s allegations.
Meanwhile, no official investigation results have yet publicly confirmed the origin of the reported gunshots inside the Senate.
