Philip Salvador reacts to Sen. Bong Go topping the Senate race

Despite his own electoral loss, Salvador affirmed his commitment to public service, particularly in aiding underprivileged Filipinos.

Actor and PDP-Laban Vice President for Luzon Philip Salvador extended his heartfelt gratitude to Filipinos who supported him and the “DuterTEN” slate in the recently concluded elections.

Although he did not secure a Senate seat, Salvador expressed no regrets and instead celebrated the landslide victory of his close friend, Senator Bong Go.

“Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa inyong suporta sa akin, lalong-lalo na po na ginawa ninyong number 1 ang aking kaibigan na si Senator Bong Go,” Salvador said in a public statement.

Sen. Bong Go led the senatorial race with 27,121,073 votes, cementing his position as the top choice of the electorate.

Despite his own electoral loss, Salvador affirmed his commitment to public service, particularly in aiding underprivileged Filipinos.

“Hindi man po ako pinalad, ipagpapatuloy ko pa rin ang serbisyong may malasakit para sa ating mga kababayang hikahos at nasa laylayan,” he said.

He added that he remains dedicated to supporting Sen. Go in delivering continued public service through the “Malasakit” agenda.

“Umasa po kayo na patuloy akong tutulong sa abot ng aking makakaya at sasamahan ang aking kaibigan sa kanyang pagbibigay ng malasakit at mas maraming serbisyo para sa sambayanang Pilipino,” Salvador added.

Salvador, a longtime ally of the Duterte administration and a staunch supporter of its programs, ran alongside other candidates under the “DuterTEN” banner—an unofficial coalition believed to carry the endorsement of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
