Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro thanks Malacañang for prompt action on PrimeWater probe

On Wednesday, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed that President Marcos had ordered an investigation into complaints against PrimeWater, citing public concern over poor service and high water bills in parts of Bulacan.

Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro expressed gratitude to Malacañang following President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to investigate PrimeWater’s service in the province, citing persistent public complaints over poor water quality and excessive billing.

In an official statement posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 30, Castro said, “I sincerely thank Malacañang for their immediate response to our call to investigate the long-standing problems with PrimeWater’s service here in Bulacan.”

“This is a significant victory for every Bulakenyo who has long endured subpar service from PrimeWater. We are pushing this initiative to ensure access to clean and reliable water,” he added.

Castro also extended his appreciation to Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando for backing the call for accountability. “I wholeheartedly thank Governor Daniel Fernando for his full support. This proves that when local leaders are united, the voice of the people becomes stronger.”

He emphasized the consistent efforts of the provincial board, saying, “Our entire Sangguniang Panlalawigan has been relentless in holding PrimeWater accountable, through hearings and repeated calls to action.”

Recently, Castro noted they were able to raise the issue at the national level, prompting the President’s attention. “This is just the beginning. We will continue fighting for every Bulakenyo’s right to humane and efficient water service.”

On Wednesday, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro confirmed that President Marcos had ordered an investigation into complaints against PrimeWater, citing public concern over poor service and high water bills in parts of Bulacan.

“The President believes that service deficiencies have no place in his administration,” said USec. Castro. “Access to clean and sufficient water is not just a business, it is a public necessity. He will order an investigation into this matter.”

PrimeWater is owned by the Villar family. House Deputy Speaker and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, a senatorial candidate under the administration coalition Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, has also been endorsed by Vice President Sara Duterte. While the Palace expressed continued confidence in Villar’s leadership, it stressed the need for PrimeWater to act promptly on customer complaints.
