Manila vice mayor Yul Servo had netizens disgusted after he was spotted at the public viewing of ABS-CBN’s recently aired program ‘Batang Quiapo’.

On Monday, ABS-CBN’s latest TV series, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ had a triumphant first episode that generated a lot of attention on social media.

Dreamscape Entertainment, the show’s producer, collected data that showed it had a peak of 341,509 concurrent viewers on Kapamilya Online Live, ABS-CBN’s free live-streaming platform on YouTube.

In addition to broadcasting the show on both TV and online platforms, the action-comedy series made a remarkable first appearance on Monday by organizing a live screening party and concert with the cast at Plaza Miranda, which attracted enormous crowds of spectators and fans.

The event, the biggest gathering for a teleserye since the pandemic, was attended by cast Cherry Pie Picache, Christopher de Leon, Lito Lapid, Pen Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Mark Lapid, McCoy de Leon, Lou Veloso, Ronnie Lazaro, Ryza Cenon, Toni Fowler, Norvin and Lovely dela Peña, Sarah Edwards, BigMak, Renz “Baby Giant” Benzon, and Bassilyo, among others.

Aside from the cast, Servo was also in attendance, causing confusion among netizens since he was one of the many congressmen who voted to shut down ABS-CBN.

In 2020, the House of Representatives voted to shut ABS-CBN down and not grant it a new franchise to operate. This destroyed the network’s finances, leading to thousands being laid off.

Since the shutdown, people living in far-flung areas have struggled to access news.

However, the media giant has resorted to airing its programs online, going completely digital.

Viewers can watch FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ from Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. on several broadcast platforms, including Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and CineMo. Moreover, the show can be accessed on various online platforms, such as Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, iWantTFC, and TFC for those who live outside of the Philippines.
