Gloria Arroyo mimicking Marcos? Propagandist claims former president not a “plunderer”

Tan says the accusations hurled toward Arroyo are all propaganda by the opposition.

It seems the former Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is taking the Marcos family route by doing historical revisionism.

Anti-Robredo social media fixture Thea Tan decided to try and convince the masses that Arroyo didn’t steal from the people.

In a facebook post, she asked why Arroyo is considered a “plunderer,” adding that the “allegations” against her are untrue.

During her administration, Arroyo took her fair share of beating from the media and TV programs.

Back then, she got viewed as corrupt, who knew how to navigate the system. Among her charges was plunder involving the misuse of 366 million pesos in lottery funds, but later dismissed due to lack of evidence.

The Filipino people also believed she rigged her re-election when actor Fernando Poe challenged her for the top position.

Tan says the accusations hurled toward Arroyo are all propaganda by the opposition.

Here, she responded aggressively when a twitter user brought up major issues concerning Arroyo.

The former president also launched a memoir titled Deus Ex Machina.

“In the end, it’s more about me as a devout Catholic and as an economist and less about me as a politician,” she said at an event.

The first part tackled her life from birth to marriage. “Part 2 is about striking out on my own,” she said.

“Part 3 is about my tutelage in public service, meaning, my tutelage public service, meaning, my tutelage for the presidency, starting from when I entered the Department of Trade and Industry up to the time when I topped the senatorial elections in 1995,” she continued.

The fourth dived into her journey to the presidency, while five and six discussed her time as the president.
