Sylvia Sanchez, still open to working with GMA network

  • Sylvia also experienced working, and was able to do good projects with the GMA network, and she knows that they also trust her
  • It is more important to consider who had helped her lift up her career and to whom she has debt of gratitude.
  •  Sylvia priority is still the Kapamilya network

Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez has been doing projects with ABS-CBN since 2012. She declares her loyalty to her home network ABS-CBN by saying, “Sila nagtiwala sa akin, e.”

According to Sylvia, she also experienced working and was able to do good projects with the GMA Network and she knows that they also trusted her.

“I mean, nagtiwala naman lahat, kahit GMA, nagtiwala naman sa akin, nagtiwala naman sila.

“Binigyan din naman nila ako ng mga proyekto noon. Galing din naman ako sa GMA. Nag-GMA din naman ako.”

GMA Network was able to give her series of teleserye projects from 2010-2011. For the record, her past projects included ‘Langit sa Piling Mo’ (2010), ‘Tween Hearts’ (2010-2011), ‘Koreana’ (2010), and ‘Iglot’ (2011).

In 2012, she returned to the ABS-CBN and immediately worked without taking breaks from doing teleseryes. Her projects in the Kapamilya network included ‘Mundo Man Ay Magunaw’ (2012), ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ (2012-2014), ‘Apoy sa Dagat’ (2013), ‘NingNing’ (2015), and ‘My Super D’ (2016).

She experienced her first major starrer after 30 years, in 2016, when ABS-CBN entrusted her to play the lead role in the afternoon series, ‘The Greatest Love’- where the series, including Sylvia, won numerous awards and recognition.

“Ngayon, noong nasa ABS na ako, sunud-sunod yung show ko, at the same time, sila yung nagtiwala sa akin na bigyan ako ng sariling teleserye.
“So kung noon nga na sunud-sunod na supporting ako, grabe na yung loyalty ko sa kanila, what more ngayon na binigyan ako ng sarili kong teleserye.”

For Sylvia it is more important to consider who had help lift up her career and to whom she has debt of gratitude. She is pretty much sure that the Kapamilya Network have loved her because of the trust that was given to her. That is also her reason for having such loyalty to the network in return.

“Mas matimbang pa rin sa akin ang utang na loob. Mas matimbang pa rin sa akin tignan kung sino yung nag-build up sa akin.

“Kaya ganun ako ka-loyal kasi grabe yung tiwalang binigay nila sa akin, di ba? Minahal naman din nila talaga ako.”

However, Sylvia isn’t closing her doors to working for GMA Network.

As she explained, if it happens that ABS-CBN have no available shows for her at the moment and the GMA Network has something to offer, she would like to know first her role in that project and if she goes for it after consideration, then she will ask the permission of the ABS-CBN network if they will allow her to push through, as a matter of respect.

But if the Kapamilya network will tell her that there is a show for her, Sylvia priority is still for the Kapamilya network.

“Yeah, oo naman, pwede naman akong gumawa. Kung halimbawa, later on, papahinga ako, which is hindi ako magpapahinga sa ngayon.

“Pero kung halimbawa, wala akong show sa ABS at may offer ang GMA, pupunta naman… aalamin ko kung ano role ko, at lalapit ako sa ABS, ‘May offer sa akin.’

“Magpapaalam ako ng maayos na: ‘Pwede ba ito?’ Out of respect, siyempre.

“Pero kung sasabihin nilang may show ako, di ba, siyempre, basta priority ko ABS dahil sila ang nagbigay sa akin at nag-angat sa akin sa teleserye at malaki ang utang na loob ko sa ABS.”

Sylvia Sanchez as ‘Jesusa’

In upcoming movie ‘Jesusa,’ Sylvia plays a mother driven to “the depths of despair” by an abusive partner. The project was first offered to Nora Aunor but the negotiation fell through. Sylvia doesn’t really mind being the second choice; what’s important is that she’s the final choice.

Slated this Summer 2019, ‘Jesusa’ is a production of OEPM (Oeuvre Events and Production Management), and also stars Allen Dizon, Ynez Veneracion, Mara Lopez, Malu Barry, Vince Tañada, Fanny Serrano and Uno Santiago in an introductory role, under the direction of Ronald Carballo.
