  • Working from home saves you from the hassle of daily commute, the stress from the office environment, and the general dangers of leaving your home.
  • A recent study has found that full-time work-from home employees tend to be happier and more productive compared to regular employees.

In the Philippines, working remotely has its own benefits. Not only does it let you escape the prying eyes of your manager, it also saves you from the hassle of daily commute, the stress from your office environment, and the general dangers of leaving your home. It allows you to take control of your time giving you the chance to spend more time with your family. Plus, you get to accomplish tasks without the need of putting on a pair of pants!

Aside from these obvious benefits, a recent study found that full-time remote workers tend to be happier and more productive compared to regular employees.

In a survey conducted by TinyPulse, an employment survey start-up, 509 full-time remote workers in the US were asked to rate their workplace happiness and relationships. The results of these survey were then compared to a bigger pool of data with 200,000 employees, which served as benchmark.

Results of the survey revealed that remote workers ranked their happiness in their job at 8.1 on the average, based on a scale of one to 10. In contrast, office workers scored their happiness at 7.42 on the average. The gap even got larger when workers were asked to rate their feelings of being valued at work. While remote workers rated 7.75, office staff had an average of 6.69.

Interestingly, remote workers gave lower ratings when asked about their relationship with co-workers. Remote workers rated 7.88, while regular employees scored 8.47.

When it comes to productivity, 91% of remote workers felt that they were more productive working at home.

However, the survey also revealed that the level of remote working happiness declined among workers who were forced by their boss to work from home.

A separate two-year study carried out in Singapore also revealed that employees who worked from home had massive increase in productivity, were happier and healthier.
