Witness reveals what really happened in Tagaytay road accident

Netizen Den Castillo, who claims to have witnessed a car accident that took place along a highway in Tagaytay City in the wee hours of Sunday, January 17, has decided to shed light on the controversial incident.

Based on police reports, six graduating junior high school students were killed when a car burst into flames after crashing into a concrete barrier and several trees along Tagaytay-Calamba Road in Barangay San Jose.

Four men and two women, aged 15 to 16 years old, were onboard the red Toyota Vios with plate number AHA 5287. None of them had a driving license.

In a report by the Philippine Star, Cavite police director Sr. Supt. Eliseo Cruz stated that elements of the Silang Police Community Precinct, officials from Barangay San Jose, and  the Tagaytay rescue team were the first to arrive at the scene. They allegedly tried to rescue the passengers from the burning car but the vehicle exploded.

From Paolo Escote via Top Gear: "Everything was a hoax. We were there! Police did respond but they were too damn scared to go near the car. Then they (police) left! According to ABS-CBN, someone stayed. No one stayed except for the Starbucks guards, us and barangay tanods. Explode? Come on...those were the tires. The sad part there was that they (police) never tried to open the door and never tried to pull at least 3 passengers out of 6, I guess. They just looked at them...and they left. And then the fire started. No one survived, when 3 of them should have. This guy on the left of the photo is a policeman with no balls to rescue those victims."

This was not the case according to Castillo who said that the police who responded left the scene to “personally” report the incident to their companions. Castillo also emphasized that the vehicle did not explode and the victims could have been saved had there been an immediate response.
