Guard at NAIA extorts P 100 from a vacationer because of sunblock

Vacations are supposed to be fun, every detail of it: from planning your itinerary, preparing your holiday clothes, getting to the terminal or airport, being in the commute and getting to the destination. However, sometimes people who go on a holiday don’t get to enjoy every minute of it, and get stressed before they even start their trip.

Take for example Christie A., who was excited about going to Boracay before she had an unfortunate encounter at the airport. She posted photos of a guard at NAIA terminal 4 who found a way to extort money from her. It was early in the morning at around 8 a.m. on June 17, when Christie and her companion (who was a Japanese national), was about to board the plane, when the detector beeped and her attention was called by one of the guards.

The guard opened her bag and told her that her sunblock and her feminine wash were not allowed in the baggage. When Christie clarified if they were really not allowed, the guard then told her to just give him some money.

SINGITAN MO NLNG NG PERA MAAM PARA MADALA MO PA YAN!!

[Just put money (inside the bag) so you can bring them.]

The guard even told her to make sure their “transaction” would not be seen on the CCTV. Christie, then put P 20 in her bag (for the guard to get), but the guard asked her for more.

dagdagan nio nmn ma’am !! 100peso nlng ma’am pang almusal LNG!!

(Add more, ma’am, just P 100 pesos for my breakfast.)

And so, Christie did as he said and took photos of the guard in secret.

Although disappointed with the incident, Christie was not able to file a complaint anymore since they needed to board the plane.

On a final note, Christie asked the public to share her post. As of this writing, it already has over 873 shares.
