Edu Manzano criticizes Martin Romualdez over ‘heal as a nation’ remark

He accompanied it with a critical caption

Actor and television host Edu Manzano took a swipe at former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez following the latter’s call for unity and national healing.

In a social media post shared Monday, Manzano uploaded an image of Romualdez bearing the statement, “We must unite and heal as a nation.”

He accompanied it with a critical caption: “Architect of the problem, now spokesman for ‘healing.’ Ayos. Kumpleto ang cycle.”

Manzano also expressed frustration over the country’s situation, writing, “MAY TAMA KA BA! ISA KA NGA SA MGA DAHILAN KUNG BAKIT TAYO NAGKAGANITO!!”

Romualdez had previously been linked to allegations involving irregularities in flood control projects. Contractor Curlee Discaya earlier claimed that several lawmakers received a percentage from government contracts.

However, Tingog Party-list Representative Jude Acidre said that the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) found no liability on the part of Romualdez in relation to the issue.

As of writing, Romualdez has yet to respond to Manzano’s remarks.
