Internet personality Jack Argota, known online as “Sir Jack Argota,” admitted that the medical certificate he posted online supposedly belonging to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was fake.
Argota personally appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on February 18 after receiving a subpoena related to his January social media post.

In an ambush interview, Argota acknowledged his mistake but said he does not regret what happened.
May mali rin ako pero ‘di ako nagsisisi,” he said.
When asked about his motive, Argota admitted he posted the image to gain engagement.
“Wala, para makasabay lang sa uso. Engagement, ganon.”
He added that he initially believed the document circulating online was legitimate.
The fake medical certificate surfaced after President Marcos was diagnosed with diverticulitis in January 2026 following abdominal discomfort.
Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that violations of the law must be addressed.
“Ang batas ay dapat ipatupad. Ang lumabag sa batas ay dapat managot.”
Castro also warned content creators against spreading misinformation.
When asked if Malacañang would push for charges, Castro clarified that the NBI initiated the complaint.
As of writing, the NBI has not announced whether it will formally file charges against Argota.
Earlier, the bureau confirmed it filed cyberlibel complaints against former broadcaster Jay Sonza and online personality Jeffrey Celiz over the alleged circulation of false medical records.
The investigation remains ongoing.
