Veteran actor and former Makati City vice mayor Edu Manzano appeared to take a jab at the noticeable weight loss of former House Speaker and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez.

On his social media page, Manzano shared a photo of Romualdez looking visibly slimmer and quipped that the change was not due to Ozempic or gym workouts.
“When the whole country knows what you did, the results are better than Ozempic. Hindi pala gym ang sikreto,” Edu wrote.
He followed it up with another pointed remark: “Committee hearings and ‘public scrutiny’ diet. Nakakapayat talaga ang stress lalo na kapag may dapat kang ipaliwanag.”

The post quickly drew mixed reactions from netizens. Some agreed with Manzano’s sentiment, while others called for accountability and due process instead of online commentary.
Romualdez has yet to issue any statement in response to Manzano’s remarks.
Romualdez has previously been linked to controversies involving alleged irregularities in government flood control projects and budget insertions. He stepped down as House Speaker in September 2025 after being implicated in corruption issues, although he has strongly denied allegations of kickbacks.
Manzano’s comments come amid continued public scrutiny surrounding the former House leader.
