DDS Supporters slam Salome Salvi over Kitty Duterte remarks

Manager defends her right to speak out

Adult content creator Salome Salvi came under fire from Diehard Duterte Supporters (DDS) after she questioned a social media post allegedly made by Kitty Duterte, the daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who described herself as “self-made.”

Leading the charge was Duterte supporter Krizette Laureta Chu, also known as Kiffy Chu, who penned an open letter criticizing Salvi not only for her remarks but also for her line of work.

“Please wag kang naloloko ng fake accounts, gaya ng di kami naloloko ng fake ungol at fake orgasm at fake advocacies and fake wokeness about how pornography is about claiming true liberation, when it’s still conditional freedom because you are still defined by your value — monetary and otherwise — by how men desire you,” Chu wrote.

“Let’s not pretend to be woke when our very jobs perpetuate patriarchy’s core logic — women being objects of consumption,” she added.

Chu further accused Salvi of being selective with her criticisms: “Stop pretending also, pwede ba, that you will carry the banner of feminism and wokeness in this country, when you can’t even call out those who are CURRENTLY handling OUR budget and are alleged to be the most corrupt of all… Patunayan mo muna yung allegations mo about PRRD before you throw your hat in the ring kasi iba ang performance level dito compared sa porn.”

She also called out Salvi’s silence on present-day controversies such as the flood control projects, PhilHealth anomalies, and issues on government funds and taxation, suggesting that her stance was only “anti-Duterte.”

Other DDS supporters joined Chu in attacking Salvi online, criticizing her credibility because of her work in the adult industry.

Salvi, however, responded with a simple laughing emoji on social media, brushing off the attacks.

Her manager, Mark Ranel Grabador, came to her defense, saying she has every right to speak on national issues as a taxpayer.

“There’s nothing wrong with Salome asking questions related to national issues. Corruption is the issue here, and she has the right to ask and give her opinion because she pays taxes,” Grabador said.

He continued: “Is giving an opinion and raising a question only valid if you are not a pornstar? I would rather listen to a pornstar with the courage to speak honestly than to someone blinded by worship and silence in the face of truth.”

Grabador lamented what he described as a warped culture of public discourse: “Masama na pala ngayon ang magbigay ng opinyon o magtanong. Dahil pag nagbigay ka ng opinyon mo at tinanong mo ang mga ito ay dadanas ka ng batikos. Ganitong uri ba ng bayan ang mayroon tayo?”
