Ogie Diaz praises campaign efforts of Bam Aquino’s mother

Just like in Bam’s previous campaigns in 2013 and 2019, Melanie is expected to ramp up her efforts in other areas as election day draws closer.

Entertainment reporter and talent manager Ogie Diaz has lauded Melanie Aquino, mother of former Senator and independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino, for her dedication in tirelessly campaigning for her son across the country.

“Nakakatuwa yung nanay ni Bam Aquino, ang sipag mangampanya para manalong Senador ang anak,” Ogie said on his Facebook page as he shared Melanie’s video while campaigning.

“Wag kang mag-alala, mommy! Kahit hindi ko pa po kayo nakikita at nakakamayan, iboboto ko po si Bam Aquino #5 sa balota,” added Ogie, who had earlier officially endorsed Aquino in his YouTube show, Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update.

Dubbed “volunteer No. 001,” Melanie recently returned to her roots in Davao City to campaign for her son. She has also been to various cities in Metro Manila, including Pasay, Quezon City, and Paranaque, and the nearby province of Laguna, convincing voters to choose her son in the upcoming May polls.

Accompanied by friends and volunteers, Melanie has braved the scorching heat, taking to the streets to hand out leaflets and engage with people from all walks of life—vendors, commuters, housewives, and motorists—convincing them to vote for her son.

“Ako po iyong nanay ni Bam. Ipagdasal niyo po si Bam at ipagkampanya niyo na rin po,” Melanie told a motorist after handing him a leaflet detailing his son’s track record and achievements as a lawmaker.

Senator Aquino expressed his heartfelt appreciation for his mother’s dedication and help, thanking her and her friends who joined his campaign.

“Lord, thank you for my mom. Malaking inspirasyon siya sa aking kampanya ngayon. At sobrang nagpapasalamat ako sa kaniya at sa kaniyang mga kaibigan sa Ladies of Charity na kumakayod para ipakilala at ikampanya tayo,” he said on Facebook.

Just like in Bam’s previous campaigns in 2013 and 2019, Melanie is expected to ramp up her efforts in other areas as election day draws closer.
