Controversial social media personality Jam Magno voluntarily surrendered to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Butuan City Field Unit following the filing of three counts of cyber libel under the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
Magno shared her surrender via a Facebook reel, where she appeared dressed up and made-up, seemingly unbothered by the legal trouble. In her caption, she expressed gratitude toward the authorities for their treatment during the process.
“RELEASED IN PERFECT CONDITION. I am so grateful to the CIDG – Butuan City Field Unit for taking care of me when I VOLUNTARILY SURRENDERED to your office today. Padayon!!”
She posted ₱24,000 bail per count, allowing her to secure temporary liberty while legal proceedings move forward. Magno, however, did not disclose the identity of the complainant or the context of the charges filed against her.
The social media figure was notably unfazed and even proud of her surrender, stating that she preempted possible backlash by turning herself in before netizens could criticize her online.
“Inunahan ko na bago ako hantingin sa social media,” she said in jest through her post.
Magno’s name has recently resurfaced in online discussions after she voiced support for former President Rodrigo Duterte, but publicly declared that she does not support his children, adding to the controversy surrounding her statements.
While out on bail, Magno remains active on social media, continuing to engage her followers amid the pending charges.
