Deo Balbuena, known as Diwata, who gained viral fame in 2016 following an incident at a police station in Pasay City, has now emerged as a symbol of resilience and triumph.
A video capturing Diwata confidently striding through the police station, reminiscent of a beauty queen, despite visible injuries, circulated on social media during the said incident.
During the incident, Diwata delivered a dialogue resembling an introduction at a beauty contest, proclaiming, “Nagmula sa kalangitan, lumagapak sa kalupaan, narito na sa inyong harapan ang nag-iisang Diwata na mukhang kawatan!”
Sharing their story in a recent episode of ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,’ Diwata recounted the altercation involving two friends who allegedly harmed them with a cutter. They courageously reported the incident to the police, citing their friends’ involvement in illegal drug activities.
In a subsequent TV interview, Diwata addressed the police, condemning their actions: “Mas nababagay kayo sa kulungan kasi mga kriminal kayo. Tingnan mo yung ginawa mo sa akin, ang ganda-ganda ng mukha ko sinira mo.”
Fast forward to the present day, a recent episode of ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ showcased Diwata’s life eight years after the incident. It revealed that Diwata has reconciled with their friends, who have also been released from prison.
In an inspiring turn of events, Diwata has successfully established a 24-hour pares business known as ‘Diwata Pares Overload Unli Rice.’ Expressing profound gratitude to God, Diwata considers these blessings as a testament to their journey.
During an interview with ‘KMJS,’ Diwata disclosed their courageous decision to move from Samar to Manila in pursuit of a better life. Initially working as a construction worker and selling candies, coffee, and cigarettes, Diwata emphasized their gratitude for the simplicity and safety of their current residence.
Adding to their accomplishments, Diwata proudly announced the acquisition of a car, a significant milestone achieved through unwavering determination and hard work. Diwata’s remarkable journey serves as an inspiration, highlighting resilience and success amid life’s challenges.
