Cebu Pacific gives in, flies student athletes exclusively to Zamboanga after viral post

Student athlete Neil Justine A. Angelio thanked Cebu Pacific for allowing them to fly to Zamboanga after he called them out for cancelling his team’s flight.

After a post by an athlete from Columban College Inc. went viral, Cebu Pacific has arranged for the cancelled flight to be rescheduled, allowing them to fly to Zamboanga City on July 12.

Student athlete Neil Justine A. Angelio thanked Cebu Pacific for allowing them to fly to Zamboanga after he called them out for cancelling his team’s flight.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga taong nag share at nag spread ng awareness para mapansin ng Cebu Pacific Air,” he wrote.

“Kami po ay matutuloy na papunta sa Zamboanga dahil binigyan po kami ng pansin ng Cebu Pac at napagkaloob na bigyan ng flight na exclusive para sa aming athlete!” he added.

Cebu Pacific reportedly reached out to the said school to inform them that the flight to the competition venue was now confirmed and would proceed as scheduled.

Angelio’s team quickly expressed their gratitude through Facebook posts after learning that they will be able to proceed with their highly anticipated competition and will have an exclusive flight courtesy of Cebu Pacific.

It can be recalled that Angelio’s viral post about their cancelled flight garnered thousands of reactions in less than a day.

“We are not able anymore to represent our region (Region lll) and our school (Columban College) at this kind of huge event this year, due to the cancelations of flights from CEBU PACIFIC,” he wrote.

“Shout out Cebu Pacific Air! Maraming pangarap at opportunity ang hindi matutupad at ma gagrab dahil sa inyo.”

The 57 student-athletes and 6 coaches from CCI are now ready to take on the upcoming challenge.

The participation of CCI student-athletes in the upcoming 2023 National Prisaa, which will commence on July 12 and conclude on July 19, is now real.
