Suzette Doctolero responds to bashing over controversial posts

She finds it difficult not to respond to bashers because she was born a “fighter”.

Suzette Doctolero expressed her thoughts on the viral posts circulating on social media and netizen reactions to them. Some of her posts sparked online discussions.

Just In featured the prominent writer for GMA Network’s series, who shared her opinion about these posts.

“Patol ba ‘yun? Nakikipag-debate lang ako actually,” she told host Paulo Contis.

“Akala lang nila inaaway ko sila pero sa loob ko, teka muna nakikipag-argumento lang ako. Hindi naman ako nakikipag-away,” she explained.

Doctolero believes she’s catching heat for her polarizing beliefs.

“Naba-bash ako because of my beliefs, my stand, because of my statement.”

Criticism, however, did not concern her.

She reiterated, “Wala akong pake, kasi ‘yung opinyon nila does not matter to me kasi buo ako. Alam ko e, alam ko kung ano ako, alam ko kung ano ang stand ko, alam ko kung sino ako. Kung jina-judge nila ako based on my statement, then problema nila ‘yun, it’s not my problem.”

She said her works reflect her personality.

“Ganoon din ako sa personality ko. Walang pagkakaiba. Because of that, naba-bash ka. Ang bina-bash sa akin, kung ano ‘yung perception nila na ako. Minsan, kasinungalingan pa ‘yung sinasabi about me.”

She finds it difficult not to respond to bashers because she was born a “fighter”.

“Pagdating sa ganoon, dahil tinuruan ako na ipagtanggol ang sarili ko, ganoon ako na-train noong bata ako e. Ganoon din ang aking instinct na kapag may tumira sa akin, sasagot ako,” she said.

Doctolero said she would not be silent about some points; she would express whatever is in her head.

Her notable contributions to Philippine television include her work as the head writer and creative consultant for the Philippine adaptations of ‘My Love from the Star’ and ‘Alyas Robin Hood’. She is also known for her collaboration with GMA Network and her contributions to the network’s success in the Philippine entertainment industry.

Aside from her work in television, Doctolero is also an advocate for Philippine culture and history. She has written several historical and cultural shows such as “Indio,” “Katipunan,” and “Ilustrado,” which were critically acclaimed for their portrayal of Philippine history and culture.
