Leni-Kiko’s People Rallies are becoming a venue for showcasing Cultural Diversity

Wherever Leni goes, the local artistic skills shine. That’s true for every grand rally the Robredo-Pangilinan team has gone to, ever since the campaign season began. There’s a trail of artistic efforts that follow her, which showcases the rich culture endowed to every locality that her team visits.

In every grand rally the ‘Tropang Angat’ holds, it seems that it has become customary to highlight the local’s cultural heritage and diversity.

Wherever Leni goes, the local artistic skills shine. That’s true for every grand rally the Robredo-Pangilinan team has gone to, ever since the campaign season began. There’s a trail of artistic efforts that follow her, which showcases the rich culture endowed to every locality that her team visits.

When Robredo visited Bulacan, the locals highlighted Obando and the Pagoda and their cultural significance, with the youth leading the effort of showcasing them as they welcomed Robredo to the province. In Rizal, Rizaleños did not forget to make the Higantes shine. Last month, before her visit to the province, the ‘Higantes Walk for Leni’, was held by the residents of Angono Rizal. During the ‘LeniWanag’ rally in Antipolo itself, Rizaleños flaunted their giant Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan standees, a nod to the province’s Higantes heritage.

In Bacolod, it was not just Robredo who emerged as the superstar; the Maskara festival also did. In Bohol, we learned that Dilaab means ‘flames’, and true enough, the fervor of the Boholanos in making sure that Robredo will emerge victorious in the 2022 polls, will go ablaze.

In Cabanatuan, where 50,000 Kakampinks showed up for Robredo, the creative imprint of the Novo Ecijanos was evident in how they presented their welcome for the lone presidentiable’s team. It was like a revolution that perfectly synchronizes with the rest of the Kakampink movement in different parts of the Philippines, including Tagum, Cavite, Rizal, Iloilo, and other cities that Robredo’s team visited.

On April 6, supporters were delighted when they saw Robredo dance for the first time.

Did her ‘dancerist’ era—as the youth of today describe someone who is good at dancing—just begin? Maybe, but it is worth noting, she did it alongside Mindoro’s indigenous peoples, or the Mangyans.

Yesterday,  April 8, attendees at the Dagupan grand rally, witnessed a showcase of the modern ‘Urduja’, through a spectacular demonstration that featured the modern Princess Urduja. Urduja is a legendary Pangasinense princess, whose inspiring bravery has already been adapted to books and even films.

The Kakampink revolution isn’t just a political event; it has become a venue for cultural showcase and artistic diversity, too. It proves how utterly important hopping on the Pink bandwagon is.
