Business owner calls out food delivery scammers who do it to get vouchers

Cathy knew no mistakes were made in handing the delivery driver Marites’ order. She immediately determined that the customer was pulling a scam

A small business owner cannot help but air her frustration at people willing to scam just to get free food from delivery services.

Cathy Jugo went on Facebook and detailed how a scammer lied about not getting her order just to receive a voucher that will make her next order free of charge or a full refund.

According to Cathy, what the scammer did was completely unacceptable as her business is barely surviving.

The scammer went by the name of “Marites Ibanez” and ordered 4 liters of buko shake and 500ml buko juice.

Cathy handed the beverages to the delivery rider and was sure she got it correctly.

However, she was surprised when Marites declared her order as “cancelled,” reasoning that the wrong item was delivered.

Cathy knew no mistakes were made in handling the delivery driver Marites’ order. She immediately determined that the customer was pulling a scam.

Marites told the food delivery service that she received two pieces of fried chicken instead of refreshments.

According to Cathy, when the rider was on his way to deliver, Marites called him saying that they would meet at a different location so her home address can’t be tracked. After that, Marites went on the app and reported that she got the wrong order. This way, she gets to choose whether to get a full refund or a voucher to get a free order the next time around.

This has been a common problem for food delivery companies and their partners. Cathy argued that the system which companies run on is flawed and should be fixed to prevent further scams.

She lost ₱615 worth of buko juice but luckily the food delivery company was kind enough to shoulder her loss.
