LOOK: Changes in your skin can show what’s wrong with your body

Pregnancy

Most pregnant women experience a change in their complexion and skin due to hormonal changes. Melasma, dubbed as the mask of pregnancy, is more common among pregnant women, but it often resolves itself within a year of giving birth. Skin tags appear around the neck, armpit, and groin during pregnancy. Some even develop red spots (which are actually small blood vessels) due to increased blood circulation. Acne often worsens among pregnant women during the initial months but will improve as the pregnancy progresses. Most of these issues tend to be resolved after delivery.
