Change eye color with a special diet: Is this real?

Once and for all, let’s tackle down this rumor…

Does eating certain foods really can change eye color? We mean, the iris of your eyes?

There have been reports about this and people were really getting fuzzy about it and all. For some reason, people were already starting to dig it, especially those who dream of changing eye color to green or blue. Let’s do a little review.

There was this famous blogger lady who claimed her eyes that used to be a very dark café brown color changed to a hazel color with almost a honey lining around the iris and were a bit getting bluish. She is blogger Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram. She claimed that her eye color changed when she started low-fat raw, vegan diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables with few nuts and seeds.

Bloggers Steve Factor and Yulia Tarbath also claimed they’d experienced changes in eye color by having a certain diet.

Lastly, there was this article from Ikfirus website that claims certain ordinary foods can actually change your eye color in due time. It even mentioned stuff like ginger, meat nuts, onion, olive oil, fish, spinach and some kinds of tea.

But here’s the thing and we’re not trying to burst your bubble here:

Eye experts say these are all not true.

But what about that field of study called iridology, where health is determined through eye color? It’s actually an alternative form of medicine where its practitioners believe that when a patient’s iris exhibits unusual patterns or colors, that might indicate disease.

Here’s what an New York eye expert has to say…

“Food’s not going to affect the pigments in your iris,” said Dr. Deeba Chaudri of Cosmopolitan Eye Care in New York City. She noted that she’s been updated with all her continuing education courses and all this time, she has never seen a study that food could affect eye color.

All Dr. Chaudri knows for sure is that you can eat good amount of antioxidants and leafy greens and it’s going to nourish the back of your eyes where receptors are, but neither good nor bad food will affect the pigment of the iris.

It’s such a hard statement, isn’t it?

Here’s another expert that will crush your hopes of naturally getting blue eyes:

Dr. Juan Horta-Santini of Union Square Eye Care, also in New York City, agreed with Dr. Chaudri. He believes that anyone who thinks diet has changed his or her eye color must have systemic diseases related to it. He even consulted with cornea specialists in Washington, D.C. and a retina specialist in Pennsylvania and they all agreed with their claims.

Lastly, Dr. Horta-Santini finished off with a nice comment on this rumor. He said there’s one legit way to change eye color. And it will never turn blue or green. It will be a creepy white via nasty trauma to the iris.

You don’t wanna experience something like that, do you? Now, we know. Thank you for taking some time to read this.
