Scientists Reveal Lovemaking Positions That Are Dangerous for Men

Lovemaking is the most enjoyable thing that couples do, but beware, it can be dangerous too!

A recent study revealed positions and activities that can literally break a man’s genitals.

Penis or penile fracture, according to Dr. Erik Castle of Mayo Clinic, is a condition where one of the two cylinders of the penis becomes ruptured after it gets bent once the penis is already engorged. Aside from masturbation, there are some positions that can lead to penile fracture.

According to Newser, a study was conducted over a 13 year period which reviewed hospital records in Campinas, Brazil. The result of the study was published in Advances of Urology which revealed the positions that can mostly likely cause penile fracture and which is the safest for a man’s genitals.

According to the study, men would most likely suffer penile fracture when the woman is on top (cowgirl style) at 50%, next is the “doggy style” which accounts to 28.6% of the incidence, and the conventional missionary style where the man is on top accounts to 21.4% of the incidence only.

How does the “cowgirl style” cause this incident?

Our hypothesis is that when woman is on top she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight landing on the erect penis, not being able to interrupt it when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration, because the harm is usually minor in woman with no pain but major in the penis. On the contrary, when the man is controlling the movement, he has better chances of stopping the penetration energy in response to the pain related to the penis harm, minimizing it.

In addition, the study also revealed that aside from pain, patients who experienced penile fracture also heard a cracking sound.

Although penile fracture is not very common, sufferers of this incident need immediate medical attention and possible surgery to avoid erectile dysfunction according to Dr. Castle.
