Philip McNamara, an Australian tourist on a boat off the coast of Papua New Guinea, filmed Mount Tavurvur’s eruption on August 29 in the distance as it explodes sending ash and smoke into the air . McNamara captured captured an amazing video of an explosive event in remarkable detail. Uploaded on September 5 on YouTube, the short film has started to go viral on the internet, collecting over 10,843,300 and still counting views as of writing.
The eruptions on Mt. Tavurvur, the most unstable volcano in the area, continued for several days afterwards.
