Photos of Aftermath When Typhoon Glenda hits Metro Manila

Typhoon Glenda (international name Rammasun), after it crashed into Tagaytay City on Wednesday morning, battered and bruised Metro Manila with strong howling winds leaving the megacity in shamble and without power.

Typhoon Glenda is said to be the first major weather disturbance to directly hit Metro Manila in years, brought high winds, flooding rains and damaging waves to Metropolis, peeling off roofs of houses, uprooting trees, and causing a prolonged and widespread power outage. However, the capital region managed to go through the typhoon with less damage than what it got in 2006 with Typhoon Milenyo.

Here are some photos shared on Facebook/Instagram by some residents in areas affected by Typhoon Glenda in Manila. The photos of the aftermath you see here mostly show trees falling on cars, unlike the mostly floody images we got in the wake of Typhoon Ondoy.

After crossing the Metropolis, the typhoon will move towards Bataan area and then exit the Philippine landmass and is destined for a second landfall in southwest China near Hainan Island on Friday, followed by a third landfall near Hanoi, Vietnam on Friday or Saturday.
