Are You Pooping the Right Way? A Microbiologist Gives Light to Making Number 2

People always talk about the right way to eat. But, there’s another important thing that people usually take for granted: pooping. It’s probably because talking about poop is taboo for some cultures, or it just doesn’t bring any interest to most people. However, finally, a microbiologist talks about the science of poop, even writing a book about it. Darm mit Charme (“Charming Bowels”), written by a 24-year-old German microbiologist Giulia Enders, has sold over 500,000 copies.

Enders, who has always been fascinated about pooping, talked about the science of making number 2 in her best-selling book. Aside from the right way of pooping, Enders also mentioned that the wrong way of pooping may lead to lead to depression, Alzheimer’s disease, allergies, and may cause you to gain weight and become obese, according to Piece of Health.

So, are you pooping the right way? In an article from the Daily Mail, Enders said that the “common” way of pooping, which is sitting, may cause numerous health problems. She also said that squatting does not bring as much problems when going number tw0.

So, what is the best way to poop?

Sit on the toilet with your feet above a stool while leaning forward. This, according to Enders, brings less pressure because the angle is even and straight, so the inner sphincter is not “choked”.

So the next time you need to go, try following Enders’s pooping tip. You’ll feel more “relieved.”
